What is projection?
Projection describes how far a fragrance can be detected around its wearer under particular conditions. It is not the same as how long the scent lasts. Velario publishes scent profiles, but this glossary does not assign measured distances or promise room-filling performance from those descriptions.
| Fragrance | Velario Aqua |
|---|---|
| Family | Fresh aquatic-woody |
| Top notes | Grapefruit, Lemon, Mint, Pink Pepper |
| Heart notes | Ginger, Jasmine, Nutmeg, Melon |
| Base notes | Sandalwood, Cedar, Amber, Labdanum |
How should you use this term when comparing fragrances?
A reproducible projection comparison needs a distance, elapsed time, application amount, and detection rule. Without those details, words such as strong or soft are subjective descriptions. A fragrance can remain detectable nearby after its wider presence fades.
What distinction matters?
Record detection distance and elapsed time together when measuring projection.
