What is macerate?

In fragrance discussion, macerate commonly describes allowing a perfume mixture to rest as part of its preparation or development. Consumer usage varies. Velario’s public product notes do not document batch resting times, and this glossary does not promise that storing a purchased bottle will improve it.

How should you use this term when comparing fragrances?

Do not turn an undocumented resting process into a performance claim. A production record would be needed to state a batch’s preparation timeline. Product notes such as Fabulous’s ginger and orange blossom describe the scent rather than its manufacturing schedule.

What distinction matters?

A production process claim needs production records, not a note list.
