What is longevity?
Longevity is the time a fragrance remains detectable under defined conditions after application. The endpoint matters: a close skin scent can remain after wider projection fades. Velario states 10+ hour wear, but an independent result requires recorded observations, an application method, and test conditions.

How should you use this term when comparing fragrances?
Separate the brand’s stated wear claim from independent measurements. Record when a scent is detectable at a stated distance and when it becomes undetectable at close range. Comparing anecdotes with different endpoints produces unreliable rankings.
What distinction matters?
Hours to skin scent and hours to undetectable are different endpoints.
